Climate Control Equipment

More than 19 000 units of railway and rail vehicles and more than 3 000 units of various wheeled equipment are equipped with KSC climate equipment.

The Division actively cooperates with leading transport engineering companies in Russia, Europe, the CIS and Central Asia.

The Division possesses a whole range of competence in the sphere of development, production, tests and trials, servicing of climate equipment.

DEVELOPMENT

KSC Engineering Center hosts the largest design bureau in Russia, Climate Control Equipment Design Bureau. The Design Bureau staff involves more than 120 highly qualified engineers, each having wide experience in the refrigeration equipment for transport engineering. For the implementation of its objectives, the Design Bureau uses licensed specialized software:

• Autodesk Inventor (development of 3D models and design documentation).
• FlowVision (simulation and calculation of complex spatial flows of air inside the products).
• Ansys Workbench (mathematical modelling and strength calculation)
• 3D Max, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator (3D visualization and product design).

PRODUCTION

All production sites are certified according to the ISO 9001 : 2015 standard for compliance with the requirements of the interstate standard EN 15085 «Railway transport. Welding of railway vehicles and their elements».

The production lines are equipped with up-to-date process equipment, the production process uses components from the leading Russian and European manufacturers.

TESTS & TRIALS

The Climate Control Equipment Division of KSC LLC has its own testing laboratory with a thermal loading chamber (total area of 525 sq. m) for testing the prototypes and upgraded products:

• Acceptance tests to confirm the cooling capacity for new developments per the requirements of the engineering specifications.
• Type tests to confirm cooling capacity for upgraded products.
• Periodic tests to confirm specifications requirements.
• Preliminary tests to determine and optimize control algorithms.
• Research tests to optimize designs and verify the analogue components.
• Tests to confirm the degree of protection of electrical equipment cases (IP).
• Determination of sound pressure level and inherent vibrations.

SERVICING

The Service Department of the Climate Control Equipment Division of KSC LLC is staffed with highly qualified workers and engineers and covers the entire territory of the Russian Federation and the CIS; that allows us to quickly respond to any requests from operating organizations and companies engaged in comprehensive maintenance of rolling stock.

• Scheduled and unscheduled repairs of climate control equipment.
• Repair of climate control equipment (current repairs of 3rd category and medium repair).
• Overhaul of whatever sophisticated HVAC equipment and air disinfection units (UOV).
• Upgrading and retrofitting at the own repair facility, at the customer's repair sites and at the locations of rolling stock deployment.
