KSC Group Resumes Production of Climate Control Equipment for Minsk Subway Coaches

Transcon (part of Climate Control Equipment Division of KSC Group) has resumed production of microclimate control systems for Minsk subway coaches. The first batch of equipment is scheduled to be delivered in late 2Q of this year.

The production line for manufacturing air conditioning systems was arranged in Tver at the site of KSC Industrial Technopark.

As the production was resumed, the climate control systems were modernized, some components were replaced with the ones made in Russia or in friendly countries. The risks related to the use of new components are minimized taking into account the experience of unifying the component base for other rail transport projects. Engineers paid special attention to optimizing air distribution in train coaches using forced exhaust ventilation.

The subway coaches were equipped with climate control systems and air disinfection units produced by KSС Group, which, in addition to maintaining a comfortable temperature in the coaches, will protect passengers fr om the harmful impact of pathogenic microorganisms in crowded conditions.

Prototypes of microclimate control systems have successfully passed approval tests. The delivery of a batch of 28 coach sets is scheduled to start in late 2Q of 2024.

The units were ordered by Metrovagonmash (part of Transmashholding), which plans to equip seven trains, four coaches each, with climate control systems and deliver the trains to the Minsk Subway by the end of this year.
